Dear all

It is unfortunate that we have had to keep our doors closed over the festive period, a time when family and friends meet to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.  Moreover, under the current rules and guidelines, we are going to have to remain closed until we are in Tier 1 or there are no restrictions.

However, I am pleased to report that due to financial assistance from the Government, good financial management and to two exceptional financial years prior to the epidemic, we have reserves to see us through the next few months when hopefully, we can welcome back members and guests to The Linford.

While we have been in lockdown, the committee have been busy maintaining and improving the premises, the cellar, bar and office have been deep cleaned and refurbished, the car park hedges have been cut back and we plan to refurbish the toilets.

Over the last three years we have managed to increase our membership from some 260 to over 400.  All members have an equal share in the premises, and everyone is equally important to the ongoing financial security of the business going forward.

Under normal circumstances we would now be collecting the annual subscriptions which give us a much needed boost in finances during our quieter months.  This year the membership will be even more important.

Claire will circulate another email shortly with details of how to renew membership of £25 for 2021, but we are requesting and urging members to renew by 31st January 2021 to see us through this time.

Lastly, we all hope that we will be re-open sometime in early spring and that we can all get back to “business as usual”.
